Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops along with Citrix ADC NetScaler is used solve several issue, such as Securly connect to a published Application from a remote location or to a whole virtual machine (VM) on any platform such as on-=Prem hypervisor (Citrix XenServer, VMware vSphere, Microsoft hyper-C, Nutanix Acropolis , etc) or cloud based platform (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc) from any remote client devices such as Windows, linux, Mac, iOS, Android, etc.
A published VM means every user gets a unique virtual machine of the OS and desktop. The resources are not shared between users, as its virtual desktop is allocated with resources. The same applies to a Published Application, each instance is unique and not sharing resources with other sessions.

Which Citrix version am i running-
To find which version and component installed for any Server side or client side, please open Control Panel – and then open Add/Remove Application (appwiz.cpl) and search for any Citrix vendor product installed and version.
For Windows 10 computers, go to the Search bar and enter Citrix Receiver. For other Windows versions, in the Windows Start menu select: All Programs > Citrix > Citrix Receiver.
